Writing the Dialogue
10/26/2020
Alison Brannon:
This week I began working on dialogue. For the dialogue I have decided to use a script format. This is to accommodate for voice acting, which is as a second iteration goal for our game. A script format will account for the emotions characters talk with and the actions happening between each line they speak.
Sample dialogue from scene one:
EUBIE’S HOUSE - UNIMORE FOREST HUB - MORNING
Eubie is standing outside of his house getting ready to leave.
Eubie: That should be everything!
Eubie’s Parent (Voice from inside the house): (Calling Out) Eubie! Don’t forget to take that jar of honey to Sue Jane’s house!
Jar of honey is sitting next to the door.
Eubie: Don’t worry I won’t forget.
Eubie picks up the jar of honey.
Eubie’s Parent: Okay sweetie, be careful going across the bridge!
Eubie: (Exasperated) I will, I will!
Eubie climbs down the tree to ground level using the stair case of leaves.
